The Interscholastic Equestrian Assn (IEA) is for High School and Middle School riders and is modeled after the IHSA (Intercollegiate Horse Show Assn). In both associations, riders are asked to catch ride, that is, compete on an unfamiliar horse, and are judged on their equitation over fences and on the flat.
